With just two episodes left in Season 4 of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, we ramp up for an exciting water-based finale. For those of us who love Eric Drummond, I regret to inform you that Episode 7 “The Aztec Aqueducts” is an Eric-less episode. Sadface. But before we jump into what Episode 7 “The Aztec Aqueducts” has in store, let’s take a look back at Episode 6 “Disaster at the Bead Site.”

Episode 6 takes Eric to Peebles, Ohio where he meets with a few experts on meteor sites. Dr. Mark Baranoski shows Eric something called a Shatter Cone, which is how scientists pinpoint the exact area meteors have previously hit. Eric is ecstatic as he has never seen one in person and they look pretty darn cool, too. From there, Eric meets up with Thomas Johnson who is an expert in the Serpent Mound Effigy. We learn about a fascinating ancient calendar and the special properties its magnetically charged location exhibits.

On the top of the Bead Site, Duane Ollinger and Josh Feldman talk to Sonic Drill operator Denzel Roberts about the burst of water that just shot up from deep inside hillside

While Eric gallivants around Ohio, the team of Duane Ollinger, Charlie Boy, Josh Feldman, and James Keenan continue work at the Bead Site: Vent Holes. A false positive into the vent holes leads them to think of an alternative to the possible void below. Duane realizes the best way in is from the top. They decide to bring a sonic drill to the top of the Bead Site: Vent Holes and dig down. But tragedy strikes when the drill digs into a water-filled cavern. Where do we go from here?!

Episode 7 “The Aztec Aqueducts”

With water spouting out of the Bead Site: Borehole, the team must, again, reassess where to go from here. When it’s posited that the underground cave systems on the ranch might all be connected via manmade aqueducts, James has the idea to travel with Duane back to Mexico City to speak with Julio Escalante. Once in Mexico City, James and Duane are shown an archeological feat that is seemingly impossible for humans to make without modern technology.

When reaching the vent holes from above seems fruitless, Josh decides that a beacon might be their best option to figure out where the water flows from. Chad’s aviation expertise comes into play with an acoustic beacon and the team is led on a cat-and-mouse chase across the ranch. Can they catch up with the beacon before it leaves the property? And will this information put them any closer to figuring out where the water is coming from?

Oh, and who could forget the special guest from Season 3 who is back on the ranch to help the team navigate the waterways?!

The only way to know is to tune in on January 8th on the Discovery Channel and see if we get any closer to figuring out the Mysteryat Blind Frog Ranch
