It’s Monday and that means one thing…two days until the newest episode of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch! This season has had ups and downs, close calls, and mishaps—but that won’t stop our intrepid researchers from trying to find the answers they’re looking for. Before we look ahead at Season 4 Episode 6 “Disaster at the Bead Site” let’s take a step back and look at what happened in Season 4 Episode 5 “Sacrificial Altar.”

The skulls that Josh Feldman filmed with his endoscopic camera in the Bead Site: Vent Holes turned out to be skulls from a crematorium. James Keenan seems to believe this area was used as a sacrificial altar for making sacrifices to the Aztec war God Huitzilopochtli. This forces Duane Ollinger to reevaluate the location of where they’re digging and they move to the right a few feet.

Across the ranch, Chad Ollinger and Eric Drummond head to the bare spot Eric noticed on his LIDAR drone graphing. They eventually come upon a large open pit mine with tons of malachite and hematite, which are indicator materials for gold. Chad also finds wooden planks that are stored in the same way as the broken wood they found in the South Cave: Great Cavern.

As the night falls, Chad and Eric decide to camp out there for the night…bad idea. They are woken up by rustling and scuttling from deep within the woods. A quick flash of their flashlights through the brush reveals large yellow eyes staring back at them. Chad takes the lead and stays awake for the night. When morning comes, they grab samples of the indicator materials and find out the mysterious woodland creature is still stalking them in the daytime. It’s time for them to hightail it out of there!

Back at the Hideout, Chad and Eric crush, sieve, and pan samples they took from the open pit mines. That’s when they find a gold nugget! Jackpot!

Season 4 Episode 6 “Disaster at the Bead Site”

After relocating a few feet from the crematorium, Duane realizes they won’t get too far digging in this current location. Some conversations ensue and they think the best way they can try and reach the Keyhole Cavern is from the top down. But how can they get a drill on top of the Bead Site? A mile-long treacherous path must be made! The men start to make the path but communication interference puts them all in danger.

Eric wants to learn more about the meteor site in the Energy Zone, so he decides the best way to go about learning it hands-on experience. This leads Eric 1,500 miles away from the ranch to Peebles, Ohio where he meets up with a Geologist friend to learn about deeply researched meteor impact sites. Will Eric find the information he’s looking for? And will he get his hands on a piece of rock he’s waited his entire career to touch?

Finally, Chad and Josh head off on an adventure of their own. Josh hasn’t had the opportunity to see the collapsed mines Chad found in Season 3 with James and Ryan Skinner. Chad and Josh embark on horseback to see if they can glean any pertinent information on how to get into the Keyhole Cavern. A deeply exhausting hike takes the men to the collapsed mine and Josh finds something with his metal detector that could flip the investigation on its head.

Ring in the new year with a new episode of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch! It premieres on January 1, 2025. You don’t want to miss this one!
